The Ogun State Government has said it is fast-tracking the prosecution of Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, following a string of road crashes linked to him of recent.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Justice, the first incident occurred on 1 November 2025 in Sagamu, when Abiodun rammed his vehicle into two motorcycles, leaving a rider and a female passenger seriously injured.
It was noted that on that occasion the entertainer showed no remorse and attempted to flee, which led to angry reaction from bystanders.
The Ogun State Police reportedly began investigating immediately, prioritizing the victims’ medical care and privacy.
The ministry added that on 23 November in Lekki, Lagos, Abiodun was again involved in a lone-car crash that nearly injured pedestrians. Officials said the November 23 crash is reportedly the third in two months involving the entertainer while they were behind the wheel.
The state government argued that while some traffic collisions may be resolved civilly, certain road users pose a sustained risk to the public and must be held accountable under criminal law. It described Abiodun as falling into that category, citing video evidence of at least two crashes and what it called his “heedless return to the wheel” despite the earlier incidents.
The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade SAN, has now directed that action on the pending Sagamu crash case be expedited for prompt arraignment. The ministry also confirmed ongoing collaboration with the police to ensure the prosecution proceeds without delay.
