‎Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, is among prominent Nigerians who have expressed deep sorrow over the passing of respected Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi. The famous cleric died at the age of 98 after a brief illness, leaving behind a legacy of faith that touched many lives across Nigeria and beyond.

‎In a condolence message released on Thursday by his senior Legislative Aide, Junaid Jibril Maiva, Senator Ndume express his heartfelt sympathy to the scholar’s family, his students and followers of the Darika tradition. He described the late Sheikh as a man whose life was defined by piety, deep knowledge and a commitment to guiding others.

‎Ndume praised Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi as “a fountain of wisdom and a beacon of moral clarity”, noting that his teachings and compassion shaped generations and helped strengthen the spiritual foundation of the nation. He added that many people including his own constituents were greatly influenced by the scholar’s guidance.

‎The senator prayed for Allah to forgive the late cleric’s shortcomings, grant him eternal rest and admit him into ‘Aljannatul Firdaus’, the promised paradise for Islamic faithful. He also prayed for Allah to comfort his family and all who loved him.

‎Ndume called on the Muslim community to rally and honour the scholar’s memory by upholding the values he taught including faith, humility, service to humanity and dedication to the path of righteousness.
