‎In a defiant renewed offensive, armed bandits numbering more than 20 attacked Isapa community near Eruku in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State on the evening of Monday, November 24. They kidnapped 11 people, including a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, and several children.

‎This attack happened just two days after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the rescue of 38 worshippers who were kidnapped during an earlier attack in Eruku, where three people were killed.

‎According to reports, the bandits entered the community around 6 p.m. They came with many cattle and began shooting everywhere. An elderly woman was hit by a stray bullet.

‎A community leader, who did not want his name mentioned confirmed that 11 people were taken. Seven of the victims are from one family.

‎Eyewitnesses said the bandits moved through the community, shooting and leaving bullet holes in houses. Empty AK-47 bullet shells were found everywhere after they left.

‎The police have not yet released an official statement about the attack.
